The RoverHauler!
My place was the "to be" place at Winnemucca RV last evening. I had a small impromptu dinner party with a bearded colleague and some new friends, Michelle and Jeff, who I met about a week ago. They were towed in to Winnemucca RV with mechanical problems. I recognized their rig as something unusual, unique, and wanted to know more. I introduced myself and found that they were broken down, "stuck in the muc'' (like me), and desperate to get to the Black Rock Desert. They had an adventure making it, and decided to stop back in Winnemucca on their way home and contacted me.
An evening outside an Airstream..
Michelle and Jeff are real live Burning Man veterans. They live just outside of Boston and have an exceptionally cool RV. Jeff says he is a sailor and had the rum and Buffet to prove it. I know Michelle likes glass and has actually taught tie-die at MIT.
Jeff is a cigar aficionado and packs a full portable humidor...Wow!
Michelle packs a home-made LED hula-hoop...and uses it too. Wow!
After dinner we sipped some real top-shelf rum and listened to Buffet.
I guess you never know who you might meet in an RV park somewhere off I-80 in northern Nevada...possibly friends. Check out their story on their adventure blog: RoverHauler
Wow. things sure can pick up in a day or two. Looks like you had your own little burning man party. How fun and intersting. Who was the beaded man. Now you are really living the Into the Wild life. Remember that couple he met and then ran into later?! Keep your stories coming.
