I knew I would have this conversation with my kids eventually, but I thought it was years away. Silas is only 6 years old, yet today I found myself asking, "Silas, please don't clean your welding projects with the bathroom towels."
I was surprised to find out that Levi was welding today, too, but he is so small that Mark had to hold him up to do the job, so no pictures of Tiny at work.
Silas has been asking me to teach him to weld for several years now...Tiny jumped in on the lesson. They both did great, and no injuries.

Now I not only have to worry about my son welding, I have to worry about Silas and Levi also. Wouldn't it be safer if they both just stuck to fly fishing?

Yay for Silas all decked out in safety gear! Looks like a real pro!

Nenny, We wear safety glasses, gloves and outfits, so even if a spark touches us it doesnt hurt. And we watch out for our hair but putting it under a hat. It is safe and fun. I did some more welding today, helping Papa with his flower petals. Silas

Thanks Lisa, Silas is very into it right now and I think he likes the outfit that goes along with it.

Well Silas, I feel much better since you have reassured me that you are being very careful and safe. I just remember seeing all the burn holes in your Papa's shirts and pants. Are you and Papa making a sunflower to go in the yard?

Nenny,
It is hanging up on the side of our house now. It is a sunflower but I really think it looks like a sun. You can see it on the blog soon. Silas

All those late nights of playing with molten candle wax has payed off. Levi is the best 4 year old weldor I've ever met, and Silas is a natural with the torch and pushing around a puddle.

Yes, I should have mentioned that you had some help on your project from the little welders. I dont understand your pushing around a puddle reference though. ?
