Countdown to Cricket

There are just 60 days left until Cricket's due date!  The boys wanted to do something special to countdown the days, so we decided to make a paper chain - each chain represents one day.  Our original plan was to remove a chain at the end of each day, but Silas can't bear to destroy the lovely chain, so instead, we're moving the star that marks today to a new chain every morning.

Both boys are very excited about the new baby, but Levi might be a bit more excited about the big event happening in 31 days - his 5th birthday.

Yes, we still have Christmas lights up, we decided to leave them on the ficus tree, but we call them winter lights.

Winter

We love winter, especially now that the ice is frozen and there is at least a little snow (we'd welcome a lot more though).  Here are some snapshots of what we've been up to lately:

Sledding.

Cross-country skiing - a new sport for the boys.

And lots of skating.

One of the most exciting things to happen recently was an unexpected Long Pond Dive Team shake up.  Ben & Erik graciously decided to give up their Co-Captain status and named new captains - Sam, Levi and Silas are the new Tri-Captians!

The boys are thrilled and looking forward to the new responsibilty next summer.  Although, I'm a little nervous that the power might be going to Levi's head, he was complaining recently that even though he is Dive Team Captain, people don't always follow his orders.  This could get interesting!
