In June, Silas, Levi and I volunteered at the Strawberry Festival at the Norlands Washburn Living History Center. Levi made the local newspaper!

Once again, we were in charge of the old-fashioned games of croquet and game of graces (our favorite). It was a very hot and humid day, so we spent a lot of time playing in the shade. Silas also played old-time fiddle tunes throughout the day. Arlo came for awhile and ate 2 strawberry shortcakes!

We all enjoyed the festival and the boys loved playing with so many different kids and adults. One young boy asked Levi why he was barefoot (Levi usually is barefoot, but also his flip flops were not period appropriate). When Levi answered that he likes not wearing shoes, the little boy asked "Is your Mom poor?" We all found that very amusing!

Levi and his new friend Sapra, who unfortunately received a blow to the mouth from a croquet mallet at the end of the day!
